Frank Appeldoorn (1979), has earned his credits as a venture capitalist with an operational finance and IT background, developing and driving financial performance of strategic business plans. After his time at Volta Ventures in the Netherlands, Frank founded Arches Capital together with two partners and the first group of 15 business angels. Frank loves working with software founders who want to change the world. Frank holds a master’s degree from Rotterdam School of Management and ESADE in Barcelona, Spain. He also received a Register Controller Degree from Nyenrode University. Frank has lived and worked in The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, and the US. Frank is married and has three kids. When all this leaves him some spare time, Frank loves to play tennis and keep in shape as a long distance runner.
Jorinde Hoek (1996), received her Master’s degree from the University of Amsterdam in Business Administration with a focus on entrepreneurship. Whilst having a background in Neuroscience, during her early studies Jorinde started a company in corporate films/photography. This entrepreneurial background led her to be the first employee of Arches Capital. Over the years she has spoken to hundreds of startups in B2B software and has built extensive experience in both strategic analyses of startups and investments. Furthermore, she is passionate about reducing the gender gap in startup funding and increasing diversity and inclusion in startup funding. Jorinde lives in Amsterdam, together with her partner. In her spare time, she still loves to shoot portraits and she likes acting.
Diederik Stolk (1991), has been involved in the start-up ecosystem for years, by setting up an alumni start-up investing program and by helping start-ups in various industries with growth strategy and capital raising. Before joining Arches, Diederik worked at a corporate finance boutique. In this capacity he provided founders, board members, shareholders and investors with advice on M&A, capital raising and restructuring. Diederik obtained his Master’s degree in Economics (Utrecht University). He also obtained his Register Valuator degree from Rotterdam School of Management. Diederik lives in Utrecht with his girlfriend. In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors, hiking the alps and bouldering.
Sander de Boer (1994), obtained his masters degree in Small Business & Entrepreneurship. After his studies he started his career at a Venture Builder with a diverse portfolio ranging from software to telecommunications and deeptech. In this multi-faceted role he solved the strategic challenges of (non)-portfolio firms in the fields of (international) business development, funding and marketing. He coordinated multiple funding rounds, established a new entity in India, led an international team and introduced a new RegTech proposition in the market. By being actively involved in multiple start-ups over the years he knows what it takes to establish a successful venture. Sander lives in Zutphen together with his girlfriend and little daughter and enjoys playing football.
